Facebook is tiring now.
My friends list is bloated. The algorithm doesn't even show me posts by my family. My feed is filled with people selling insurance or gold. The political opinions of people on Facebook are uninformed.
I joined Facebook in 2008 or 2009 while I was in CFS IIUM. I may be showing my age when I say this : it was better back then. It had people my age and the people I added were actually my friends. It really blew up around the world after 2010, where everyone's gradndma eventually joined Facebook too.
I quit Facebook in 2013 (like, actually deleting my account). I had to join again in 2017 because everybody in my hospital was using it and I needed it to keep up to date. 5 years later, I remember why I left in the first place.
After having some thought about it, I deleted the app from my phone 1 hour ago. My account is still active, but maybe not for long. I still hate that Google+ never got traction, because it was a way superior social network.
We'll see how long this excursion from Facebook lasts. In the meantime, I'll enjoy the clarity of mind being away from it gives me.
